Head of NATO's Military Committee Rob Bauer spoke at the Warsaw Security Forum in the Polish capital on Tuesday, calling for the arms industry to increase production due to a shortage of resources.
“The bottom of the barrel is now visible. And we need the industry to ramp up production in a much higher tempo and we need large volumes.” Bauer said.
Ukrainian soldiers fighting against the Russian invasion stated on Wednesday that financial aid from the United States was essential in strengthening the army, even though it was not the only source of foreign aid available.
However, one Ukrainian soldier expressed concern that if the United States suspends its aid, the war will likely last longer.
NATO has been urging for an increase in defence production to meet the high demand for weapons and equipment following Russia's invasion of Ukraine. The allies have been providing supplies to Kyiv while also building up their own inventories.
