Boris Johnson: The public isn't interested in the Downing Street refurbishment

The Prime Minister has laughed off suggestions that the public was interested in questions of who paid for the refurbishment of his Downing Street flat.

Mr Johnson claimed instead they were "by orders of magnitude" more interested in the government's focus on their priorities.

And speaking to Sky News' Sam Coates, the Prime Minister said he "loved John Lewis" - responding to suggestions the department store-furnished flat wasn't to the couples' taste.
