The Morning Show dives into the heroic world of 'Blue Beetle,' based off the DC Comics series, with director Angel Manuel Soto, who discusses Latino representation and his personal connection to the movie.
The film follows protagonist Jaime Reyes who returns home from college finding things were different than they once were. It's the first DC Comics film to centre on a Latino superhero.
"It means a lot to be able to see us [Latinos] projected in a different light in Hollywood. We have been for years stereotypically been shown in a certain way," Soto said. "It was a great opportunity to be able to help in a project that celebrates who we are."
He also chats about family dynamics and the heartfelt tribute to Puerto Rico in the movie.
