The BJP has welcomed Rajinikanth's announcement on his political plunge. The saffron party has also sought the support of the actor saying his views are similar to the national party's. With elections due in May, the BJP has already sealed alliance with the ruling AIADMK though the tie up suffered a huge defeat in Lok Sabha polls last year. NDTV's Sam Daniel spoke to BJP Spokesperson Narayanan Thirupathy.
