The B.C. Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (SPCA) is asking the public to temporarily remove backyard bird feeders and empty bird baths due to the Avian flu outbreak spreading across the country.
The disease has been identified at two more B.C. properties this week, with one of the recent sick flocks in a Kelowna residential backyard.
The case highlights the risk the illness poses for anyone who keeps chickens or other poultry. Megan Turcato explains why.
