Biden outlines updated US COVID-19 vaccination plan, includes expanding rollout to children | FULL

U.S. President Joe Biden provided his updated plan on Tuesday for the country's COVID-19 vaccine rollout, which includes inoculating children once approved by the FDA, launching a website that helps Americans find their closest vaccination centre, tackling vaccine hesitancy and more.

The president also set a new vaccine goal: to get 70 per cent of adult Americans at least one dose of vaccine and 160 million adult Americans fully vaccinated by July 4.

Biden's latest remarks come as the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) is expected to authorize the Pfizer-BioNTech COVID-19 vaccine for young adults age 12 and older by next week, barely a month after the company found its shot provided protection for the younger group.

Biden predicted a return to some normalcy by the end of the summer on Monday, and said he expects the United States will be "in a very different position than we are now."
