US President Joe Biden has expressed support for a ceasefire in the Gaza Strip during his third call with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu since the violence flared up.
Biden says Israelis and Palestinians are both entitled to safety and security while reiterating that Israel has the right to defend itself.
But members of his own Democratic Party say he has ignored the plight of Palestinian civilians
The Biden administration has approved a $735 arms deal to Israel but some legislators are calling to stop it until the bombing of Gaza ceases.
