Biden declares Ketanji Brown Jackson's Supreme Court confirmation "moment of real change" | FULL

U.S. President Joe Biden on Friday declared that the confirmation of judge Ketanji Brown Jackson to the Supreme Court was a "moment of real change in American history," — a moment 46 days in the making from nomination to being confirmed to the nation's highest court.

"It has taken 232 years and 115 prior appointments for a Black woman to be selected to serve on the Supreme Court of the United States. But we've made it, we've made it, all of us," she said.

Biden praised the future justice's character, but also took time to criticize what he said was "verbal abuse, the anger, constant interruptions, the most vile baseless assertions and accusations," made during the confirmation process by some Republicans. He also thanked Republican senators Mitt Romney, Susan Collins and Lisa Murkowski for joining Democrats in voting to confirm Jackson to the court, joking he hoped he didn't get them in trouble for doing so.
