British Columbia's Transport Minister Rob Fleming and Agriculture Minister Lana Popham, alongside other officials, held a briefing Friday to discuss the latest state of flooding in the province, and the ongoing repair and recovery work being done by emergency officials.

Cooler and drier weather is giving some much-needed relief to B.C.’s Fraser Valley Friday following devastating flooding. Fleming said that as the weather remains drier, the highways can stabilize and work on repairs can continue.

Evacuation orders still remain in place throughout the Sumas Prairie region, however, and hundreds of residents are still facing a daunting road ahead as repairs continue.

Fleming also discussed B.C.'s supply chain, saying that goods are continuing to move well around the province despite some major highways that remain shut down. More than 10,000 trucks have now moved product around B.C., he stated.
