At least three people have died and "around a dozen" are missing following an explosion and fire at a block of flats in Jersey.

Police, fire and ambulance chiefs have given an update on the situation, saying that specialist officers have been deployed to console family members during "this early search and rescue phase".

Chief of Police Robin Smith said that the process would not be fast, and may last for "days or weeks".
