With news that Pope Francis will visit Canada as part of Indigenous reconciliation, there are still questions about how significant such a visit could be for some communities.
Many say there needs to be much more than just an apology, with the Catholic Church being held accountable for its role in residential schools. For decades, Indigenous leaders say the church has shirked its responsibility for reconciliation to the detriment of survivors and their families.
