Armenia and Azerbaijan have signed a deal to end six weeks of conflict in their disputed region of Nagorno-Karabakh.
Russia was also signatory to the deal which Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan described as “painful” in an emotional Facebook post.
Russia’s defence ministry said it had begun the deployment of 1,960 soldiers to act as peacekeepers.
A ceasefire has already taken effect - but some Armenians protested at the parliament building in Yerevan after the news broke.

Al Jazeera’s Katia Lopez-Hodayan reports.
