In mixed Jewish-Arab cities like Haifa, Acre and Lod, memories of the outbreak in 2021 of violence between Jewish-Israeli and Arab Israeli citizens still take time to fade. Members of Israel's Arab minority account for about 20% of the population and are Israeli by citizenship but Palestinian by heritage. In the city of Lod, two young people have rebuilt their neighboring businesses. It is still unclear who and what caused the damage, but the experience and upheaval from that time has brought them closer together.
