1. President Joe Biden said he will seek a second White House term in 2024, a decision that will test whether Americans are ready to give the 80-year-old Democrat, already the oldest US president ever, another four years in office.

2. The ex-cop who lost his job on the Louisville, Kentucky, police department after firing the gunshot that killed Breonna Taylor in her home, helping stoke mass protests against racial injustice in 2020, has returned to the ranks of law enforcement.

3. Fighting in Sudan eased overnight after the army and a rival paramilitary force agreed to a three-day truce, allowing more Sudanese to flee and foreign countries to extract citizens.

4. Ukrainian forces based on the western side of the River Dnipro are frequently carrying out raids on the eastern bank near the city of Kherson to try to dislodge Russian troops, a regional official said.
