A mirrored monolith was found on a beach on the U.K.’s Isle of Wight on Dec. 6, the latest in a number of similar metallic objects appearing around the globe.

The Isle of Wight discovery follows similar finds in Utah and California, and in Romania.

In each of the previous instances, the objects were subsequently removed in circumstances which remain unclear, except for the California structure, which was toppled over by pranksters.

No one has yet claimed credit for the monoliths so far.
