Between 2012 and 2018, China accounted for more than half of the growth of global luxury brands and is now undisputed as the largest consumer of said brands. But with increased scrutiny on Hong Kong and Taiwan and their troubled relationship with China, Versace and others have begun to refer to Taiwan and Hong Kong as independent countries.
