Vladimir Putin has outlined how Russia needs to defend against an "aggressive, marauding West" - says Sky's Russia correspondent Diana Magnay.

Mr Putin spoke for almost two hours in his national address, railing against the West while attempting to console a country that has seen thousands of its young men die in Ukraine.

He called on elites to return home from abroad to Russia and build the economy.
