Officials from the Alberta Emergency Management Agency, Alberta Wildfire and the provincial government will update the wildfire conditions on Thursday.
As of Thursday morning, Alberta Wildfire had 98 wildfires burning across the province, 26 of which were listed as out of control.
So far this year, 487 fires have destroyed 728,000 hectares across the province — an increase of 113,000 hectares in just 24 hours.
On Wednesday, there were 22 states of local emergency, five band council resolutions and 20 evacuation orders in place.
In the past 24 hours, evacuation orders have been lifted or shrunk in several communities, including Drayton Valley/Brazeau County and the County of Grande Prairie.
