Alberta is expanding eligibility for third doses of COVID-19 vaccines in the province.

Starting Nov. 8, Albertans aged 70 and older, First Nations, Métis and Inuit people 18 and older, front-line health-care workers and Albertans who received two doses of AstraZeneca or one dose of Jansen will be eligible for a third dose.

First Nations, Métis and Inuit people and front-line health workers must have received their second dose more than six months ago to be eligible.

Eligible Albertans can book appointments for third doses online with Alberta Health Services and participating pharmacies.

Individuals living on First Nations reserves will be able to access third doses though public health clinics or nursing stations on reserve.

Initial bookings are on the honour system.
