At least 82 people were killed when a Houthi-run prison in Yemen was hit by an airstrike on Friday, with the Doctors Without Borders mission in the region having counted more than 265 more people injured.

Houthi rebels claim the airstrike was by a Saudi-led coalition, which has since denied it carried out the strike.

The airstrike was part of an intense air and ground offensive that marked an escalation in Yemen's civil war that started in 2014.

The strike also comes days after Houthi rebels claimed responsibility for a drone and missile attack on targets inside Abu Dhabi. The United Arab Emirates said that the assault killed three civilians.
