Air travel industry emissions fall outside scope of COP26 agreement

Leaders from across the world are about to gather in Glasgow, Scotland for the United Nations Climate Change Conference, known as COP26.

The hope is that new, more-ambitious emission reduction targets will be agreed.

But some emissions do not fall inside the scope of the summit, most notably, those from international air travel.

Redmond Shannon explains why that is, and why airlines may not need to take any action for years.
