A group of women gathered in Kabul on Sunday to celebrate International Women's Day and demand to be heard in the ongoing peace negotiations between the Afghan government and the Taliban. Footage shows dozens of women with Afghan flags gathering at a conference in Kabul.
"The fact that the peace negotiations are happening behind closed doors makes us nervous," said Sabrina Hamedi, one of the women.
"We don't want to have the same rights as in the last decade," said Basma, another woman. "No one should beat or throw stones at women ever again, and women should not be kept in the dark."
The government and Taliban are reportedly hopeful about reaching a peace agreement before the upcoming presidential elections in July.
