From leaky roofs, inadequate food, lack of sleep, Afghan refugees, some from the same family, describe the 'misery' of being separated and say they are unable to rebuild their lives.

Ministers say over 10,000 refugees are living in hotels as they wait for social housing, costing the taxpayer £1 million a day as councils have been told to find the necessary housing.

The Home Office said homes have already been found for more than 7,000 Afghan evacuees - but pressure on local councils is set to increase further.

Newsnight's UK Editor, Sima Kotecha speaks to Afghans currently living in hotels who describe their 'isolation' from local communities and what more can be done to help those who escaped potential murder from the Taliban.
