The Taliban is warning of more attacks against top Afghan officials.
On Wednesday, there was an explosion near a defence facility in Kabul.
On Tuesday, a car bomb blast followed a gun battle near the defence minister's house.
The Taliban said it was responsible for that attack.
The attacks came even as violence flared up in the south of the country.
