गुजरात के पूर्व मुख्यमंत्री विजय रूपाणी और पूर्व डिप्टी सीएम नितिन पटेल, दोनों ही घोषणा कर चुके हैं कि वे अगले महीने होने वाले विधानसभा चुनाव नहीं लड़ेंगे. विजय रूपानी (66), राजकोट पश्चिम के मौजूदा विधायक हैं और अगस्त 2016 से सितंबर 2021 तक मुख्यमंत्री रह चुके हैं. उन्हें और उनकी पूरी मंत्रिपरिषद को सितंबर 2021 में बीजेपी ने बदल दिया था. बीजेपी के दो अन्य वरिष्ठ नेता, भूपेंद्रसिंह चुडासमा और प्रदीपसिंह जडेजा- जो रूपाणी कैबिनेट में मंत्री थे, ने भी घोषणा की है कि इस बार टिकट नहीं मांगेंगे.
Former Gujarat Chief Minister Vijay Rupani and former Deputy CM Nitin Patel have both announced that they will not contest the next month's assembly elections. Vijay Rupani (66), is the current MLA from Rajkot West and was the chief minister from August 2016 to September 2021. He and his entire council of ministers were replaced by the BJP in September 2021. Two other senior BJP leaders, Bhupendrasinh Chudasama and Pradipsinh Jadeja - who were ministers in the Rupani cabinet - have also announced that they will not seek tickets this time.
