Max, a 20-year-old macaw, got a new 3D-printed titanium beak after his original one was torn off in a fight with another bird.
A team of South African veterinarians was able to successfully attach the prosthetic, allowing Max to once again eat solid food. However, due to the macaw’s nasty habit of picking fights with other birds, he’s being kept separate in a hospital aviary.
