The U.S. Congress voted on Wednesday to approve President Joe Biden’s landmark $1.9 trillion COVID-19 relief bill.

The House gave final congressional approval to the sweeping package by a near party line 220-211 vote, seven weeks after Biden entered the White House and four days after it passed in the Senate.

On Wednesday, following the passing of the legislation, Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell blasted it as “one of the worst pieces of legislation” that’s been passed during his entire time as a member of the Senate.

The bill includes provisions to provide up to $1,400 direct payments this year to most adults and extends $300 per week in emergency unemployment benefits into early September.
