The antibody tests - which can show whether someone has or had the virus - will be first rolled out to NHS and care staff, as well as patients.

Hancock also added 5% of people in the UK - including 17% of Londoners - may have had coronavirus, based on a sample of antibody tests.

The Health Secretary was joined by Chief Medical Officer Professor Chris Whitty and Professor John Newtown, who is coordinating testing in the UK.
