“We feel defeated”: Family responds after Saskatchewan coroner denies inquest into overdose death

Late last year, a family called for an inquest into the death of Shayne Turner, who died of an overdose in 2021, shortly after being discharged from Regina General Hospital.

Today, Saskatchewan's chief coroner released a decision on the matter and said he won’t call an inquest into the death.

Turner's family is disappointed, saying they felt “defeated” and believed that chances to save his life were missed.
