The amount of humanitarian aid going into Gaza will “scale up” in “the coming days,” according to Israel’s chief military spokesperson, Daniel Hagari.

“Food, water, medical supplies, shelter equipment and other aid; more of it is going into Gaza than ever before,” Hagari said in a video address on Sunday. “This increase in aid is a result of increased efforts.”

Hagari said new corridors utilizing an Israeli seaport and border crossings will allow aid convoys to deliver goods to the suffering Palestinian people. Israel closed off access to Gaza following the fatal Oct. 7 attack by Hamas militants, which left more than 1,200 dead in south Israel,

“Getting aid to the people of Gaza is a top priority, because our war is against Hamas, not against the people of Gaza,” Hagari said.

More than 34,000 Palestinians have been killed in Gaza since Israel launched its war on Hamas in retaliation for the Oct. 7 attack.
