‘Wrong kind of rain’: Thunderstorm warnings after heatwave

Britain is braced for more extreme weather – this time heavy thunderstorms are set to sweep the country from Monday.

But after weeks of dry, hot weather, heavy rain could cause more problems rather than ease the drought that’s affecting much of the country.

That’s not good news for residents of Everton in Bedfordshire, which has been suffering regular water shortages.
