‘We are pawns in a game we never wanted to play’, says mother of Israeli hostage

US Secretary of State Antony Blinken has touched down in Tel Aviv tonight.

His visit comes as Israel's Prime Minister vows to go ahead with his assault on Rafah in southern Gaza, no matter how Hamas responds to the latest ceasefire proposal.

Mr Blinken has urged Hamas to take the deal, describing it as “extraordinarily generous” on Israel's part.

In the last week, Hamas has released two videos showing hostages they are bargaining with.

One featured Israeli-American Hersh Goldberg-Polin, who was missing his left hand, and was last seen badly injured on 7th October.

Earlier we spoke to his mother Rachel - and began by asking her what it was like to see the video and hear her son's voice for the first time in almost seven months.
